– Marina systems may exist to co-ordinate aspects of boat docking, but marina capacity still fails to be fully employed.

– RB will permit marinas and boating folk to book a dock, last minute, for anything from a couple of minutes to a couple of years, thereby abolishing the current summer scene of many empty berths, surrounded by boat captains looking for a place to dock, for a spot of lunch on the quayside, for example.

– If User B is illegally docked in a berth, when reserver boat User A arrives, RB system can automatically direct User A to next most convenient berth, taking into account User A’s final destination.  User A can be given a discount for the inconvenience, which can be funded by penalty charge applied to User B.

– RB has many great side effects, such as fuel/pollution savings, due to reduced ‘hovering’ of boats, waiting/searching for vacant berths.

– RB streamlines marina management, including immediate updates reference berth availability, together with dimensional and temporal info.

– RB boats can update marinas reference arrival and departure, so the marina can ensure that berths are never not producing revenue.

– Dynamic pricing can be set by marinas, so short term bookings are higher rate and can be fine tuned according to time of day/night/year etc.

– As payment details are uploaded to the system, overstay offenders can be automatically charged penalties.

– RB has many other benefits, as reflected by the land version of the concept, ReserveOnStreetPark (ROSP).
